Our wooden flooring installation process
1. Site measure
One of our team would either come to you and do a site measure and discuss things with you once a product selection has been made, or, you could send through floor plans and we would contact you to talk about product selection. A visit to our showroom is always recommended.
2. Uplift
We would then carefully uplift & remove any existing floor coverings (Carpet, tile, cork or existing wooden floors). Note we can install some timber or laminate flooring over tiles without having to remove them. Speak to our team to find out more.
3. Subfloor
We would then prepare the subfloor. If the subfloor is concrete and we are gluing your floor down, we would diamond grind the concrete, then apply a moisture barrier. If you have a timber/particle board substrate, we would give the floor a light grind to take any humps/high spots out.
4. Undercut
The next step is to undercut existing skirtings. Our preference is that skirting boards be removed prior to installation, however, should this not be the case, we can undercut the skirting boards so the flooring can tuck just underneath the skirting leaving a tidy edge around your space.
5. Floor installation
Once the subfloor prep and skirting boards are sorted out, we then come in and install your new timber or laminate floor.
6. Lay the wooden floors
Then the final step is all about the quality of workmanship. Our fully qualified and expert installers lay every piece of your flooring with precision, control and the finest attention to detail. We want your floor to look and feel like a million bucks.
7. Cleaning help
Once the installation is complete, we send out appropriate cleaning products and instructions.
8. Complete
Typical Kitchen, Family Dining area (approx. 45m2), in an engineered timber or laminate would be fully completed in 2-3 days, ready to walk on.
